LEAN MANAGEMENT and LEAN MANUFACTURING
Lean Manufacturing : Toyota - a system and a philosophy (2 days) At the end of this training workshop, participants will have an overall understanding of the Toyota manufacturing system: principles and tools used to reach their goals. We use practical simulations to show the interface and the importance of various parts of the system as well as the key success factors to implement them in a North-American environment.
Kaizen - improvement workshop in manufacturing processes (4 days) The Kaizen process is generally used to solve problems within organizations. During the training session, we perform a Kaizen to experience the steps and tools necessary to an effective workshop. Since the Kaizen spirit goes beyond the workshops, we also identify the success conditions and activities necessary to achieve continuous improvement goals.
Kaizen - improvement of administrative processes (3 days) The Kaizen application in the administrative processes is somewhat different, even though fundamental principles are identical. We basically use the same training method; going through the actual steps of a workshop. We improve an administrative process with specific targets allowing the participants to experiment the stages, the tools as well as to understand the importance of the techniques and their underlying principles.
5 S - A method to jump-start progress! (1 day) The purpose of the 5S method (Seiri - sort, Seiton - straighten, Seiso - shine, Seiketsu - standardize, Shitsuke - sustain) is basically to organize effectively an environment in order to continuously visualize gaps and abnormalities. Usually, the first 3 stages are successfully implemented in organizations; it seems that few succeed to move to steps 4 and 5 (standardize and sustain). During this workshop, the participants will experiment the method, understand the stages of implementation and understand the importance of the conditions of success.
MANAGEMENT
Change management (3 days) Change is now a common reality in our business world. Competition forces organizations to quickly develop new products and new services while reducing their operational costs; levels of profitability being one the most important issues at the moment. Unfortunately, operational impacts of these changes are sometimes underestimated, creating instability and generating resistance as well as inefficiencies. Our training session will help participants to identify the nature of changes, set the targets as well as assess the related risks, elaborate the action plan required to achieve the expected goals with their team.
Leadership (3 days) Leadership is often defined as ‘the skills and the attitude to influence people in a specific situation with a specific goal’. The participants will precisely have opportunities to assess their level of influence in various circumstances and understand the reasons explaining these results. The training activities will help them to identify their strengths and areas of improvement as well as the actions to be carried in order to extend the range of their influence. Participants will come out of the session with a plan to develop their reflexes and achieve better results, with the cooperation of their team.
Communication: the quality of my professional relationships (3 days) This training workshop allows participants to evaluate the quality of their professional relationships. The training activities are designed to experiment techniques and to measure the importance of behavior and perception. All techniques are designed to facilitate common understanding and mutual respect between people.
Team building (3 days) People attending this workshop will have the opportunity to try out an approach that facilitates the bonding and the commitment between people. Our process enables participants to assess key team parameters: cooperation and relationships, motivation and sense of commitment towards results. Our tools and techniques are applicable in your daily operations while taking into account your professional realities.
Problem solving (3 days) *** Managers could easily consider problem solving as a daily task. Ideally, they wish they could resolve permanently fundamental causes and avoid repetitive problems. However, the quantity of information to be analyzed as well as the diversity of people involved usually makes the decision-making process ineffective and counter-productive. Our session focuses on a simple process, with proven techniques and tools that will be immediately transferable in the manager’s working environment.
HUMAN RESOURCES and ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Staffing (2 days) *** The cost of recruiting is often astronomical when one considers the resources dedicated to recruitment, orientation programs and training. The people attending this workshop will have the opportunity to follow a systematic method with practical tools and techniques enabling them to raise the efficiency of the staffing process and reduce cost.
Performance Appraisal (3 days) *** During the last few years, the tools for performance appraisal have been highly and often too much computerized! Our training is focusing more on the process itself, the tools and techniques of measuring and assessing the performance of a teammate: how to set the objectives, to measure them, to recognize people’s contribution and have them progress.
Train the trainers program (7 days) *** Our program is structured out of 4 modules:
- The process of training needs analysis - Design and preparation - Facilitation of a training session - Follow-up on learning transfers and measuring results
This program is very practical, with proven techniques and tools that will add value to the results of your training activities in your company.
Competency development (3 days) *** Once the annual appraisal completed, the planning and execution of competency development often seems to lack precision and action. Companies with a solid track record in this area are quite unique. People attending this workshop will experiment a process and practical tools enabling them to develop the competencies of team members. This session will focus on: how to define a profile and related competencies, how to define and implement training plans as well as to measure the progress of a trainee.
*** Please note that we can use your own organizational tools, if you have already implemented them. In such a case, the training objectives and the activities are adjusted accordingly.

Current context of training
Train? Is it the proper timing? Is it legitimate within our context? Is it a priority? These are legitimate questions for many companies struggling with their priorities, budgets, operational cost and profitability issues.
With many cutbacks, organizations tend to give the priority to technical and operational training particularly those connected to the following situations: new employees, promotion or reduction of manpower, change of technologies…
However, important training should occur with change, organizational improvements and growth. Do we measure the positive impact as well as the potential of these training decisions?
